The longhorns were just as surprised as George and Eddie. Now, you may first think that the bears are safe from bull digestion. However, it's important to remember that, while cattle are not carnivores, but herbivores, Eddie and George are in fact composed primarily of plant fiber. So we think the two bears were reasonable in worrying that those cattle might make them breakfast. In fact, that one longhorn looks too interested in them:
There was more adventure than just the longhorns. Look at the chickens pecking away by our rig:
The Texas hill country is gorgeous this time of year. We've been here in August and we can tell you it's very dry and hot that time of year. But now, in springtime, with the bluebonnets blooming, the grasses growing and blowing, and the morning mist lifting from the land, it's positively awe-inspiring:
Here's a photo of our RV, nestled in under a live oak, with Baxter out exploring his surroundings. He's happy not to be stuck under the bed anymore:
