Arrived in Terlingua, Texas @ 4:50 pm and Discovered Big Bend Country!

We're all settled in Terlingua, Texas, just outside Big Bend National Park.  The scenery on the drive here was spectacular, and quite different than East Texas.  Just as samples:

This is a mysterious, pyramid-shaped hill in Sheffield, Texas:

About an hour later, we approached another mysterious hill near Bakersfield, Texas that first looked like a pyramid from the east side --

-- then looked like a super-eroded sphinx from the south side:

We saw our first Texas dust devils.  Here's one:
