Camp Sharktooth - Wells, Maine - Mini-Golf, Maze and Arcade Edition

July 14th to 20th, 2021
Hi Blog!

The Moody Beach RV Campground in Wells, Maine is right next door to Wonder Mountain Fun Park. This place has everything a nine year old could hope for in a beach fun park. It has two 18 hole mini-golf courses. There is also a maze, go-carts and an indoor fun arcade.

The first thing we did was get William a swipe card for the arcade so he could accumulate ticket/points during our stay. He did one go-cart race with Kathy and ran the Wildlife Maze.

We had the chance to watch William run the maze from a view platform. He needed to find all the animals listed above and punch his card with the appropriate punch. When he completed the maze, he received a prize in the arcade.

The prize was a small plastic spider ring, which quickly became a cat toy when William tied a piece of string to it and dangled it for the cats to bat at.

We tried to play a couple rounds of mini-golf each day. If your score beat the lowest score of the day, you could erase that score and fill-in your score. Having just completed two weeks of golf camp (not to mention many rounds of championship mini-golf with Dad, Mom and Gugu on his Shore vacation), William was primed and ready to compete for lowest score. In the under 11 category, the first low score William posted even beat the low women's score!

The next day, William was proud to claim his free game.

One day, even Kathy made the low score board. It must have been all that practice!

William's score of 47 was low enough to get a second free pass.

After each golf outing, a few minutes were spent in the arcade trying various games. After a few attempts, William was able to score a bouncy ball from the grabber machine.

The other games let you accumulate points which can be traded in for prizes.

There were all types of machines such as race cars, sky divers, basketball shootouts, ski ball and William's favorite the Spin Me Wheel. After a few days, William realized that the wheel paid out the most points. However, he never expected to hit the grand prize of 1,000 points!

At the end of the week, William had enough points to win a free pool table. Click the link below and watch William enjoy trying out his new pool table!

At the end of our stay in Wells, we left behind the commercial side of Maine and headed off to Acadia National Park for hiking, biking and paddling! Stay tuned for more adventures in Camp Sharktooth - the RV Road Trip!
