Celebrating Our Anniversary on Revelstoke

Tuesday, July 4, 2017 was not only the U.S. Independence Day, but it also was our wedding anniversary, so we decided to celebrate playfully.

We started with a selfy with the "Little Dude" that Kathy's friend Janet Dairo had made for us as a wedding gift, way back in 1998:

We decided to spend the day at Revelstoke Mountain Resort - normally a ski resort in the winter, but an enjoyable tourist attraction during the warmer seasons of the year.

The resort has two gondolas that carry passengers high up Mt. MacKenzie to look out over the Columbia River, Mt. Begbie and the Monashee Range to the west:

Kathy thought it helped to hold on as she looked down on the town of Revelstoke:

At the top, we enjoyed views in all directions, and then rode the gondola down to where the resort operates a luge ride.  As you can see, David was very excited about the prospect of hurtling down the mountainside at speeds of over 42 kph!

Kathy, on the other hand seemed very cool as she finished her ride in a "Look Ma, one hand!" style:

Having had such an enjoyable outing, we topped it off with lunch at the resort pub, a fitting anniversary meal.
