Eddie & George Wake Up at Katie's Casa

Dόnde esta Eddie and George?

AQUI!

...but where is "aqui," anyway?  It took the boys a little while to figure that out - but they immediately recognized Maggie Puppy, who greeted them with open paws.  Now it became clear to them:  somehow they had been transported to Katie's apartment in New Haven!

What was unusual about this particular awakening?  Kathy and David woke up with them. Maggie was a bit more active in greeting the Unstuffed Ones, however.  Here Maggie is giving wake-up puppy kisses to David...

... and this is a selfie Kathy took of everyone in the guest bedroom.  Maggie just couldn't tear herself away from the Beard long enough to pose correctly:

Morning ablutions finished, we peeked out upon the sunny day so cheerily visible through Katie's window:

Katie was thoughtful enough to put coffee on a timer the night before, so everyone had a chance to wake up slowly and gab over a cup o' Joe.

After dressing, we accompanied Katie as she took Maggie on a bio walk.  Katie's backyard adjoins a community garden that is full of flowers, herbs and vegetables.  Guy Noir stands guard to discourage all do-badders from disturbing the karma of the garden:

Our first day at Katie's, we accompanied her and Maggie Puppy on a long stroll through East Rock Park, a beautiful, many-faceted refuge with lots of trails to explore.  We all paused at a bridge in the park for an informal portrait of the women:

As with all visits to friends and family, this sojourn involved plenty of eating and even some drinking.  Katie took us to dinner at Prime 16 Taphouse + Burgers in downtown New Haven ---

--- and then we retired to Katie's abode to enjoy a showing of the film, "Pitch Perfect" before falling into a deep sleep.

Sunday, our second day with Katie and Maggie, we started with a scrumptious brunch at The Pantry, just around the corner from Katie's apartment.  Bellies full, we drove off to a wonderful hike on part of the Mattabessett Trail at Bluff Head, where Maggie took the lead and showed us the way to all the best views:

We also took the opportunity to scope out the small campground we plan to park the RV at in August when we return to New Haven to puppy-sit Maggie while Katie heads off to a professional conference.

This was a lot to pack into a weekend!  Eddie and George were so exhausted, that, by the time we got home Sunday, they fell into bed and didn't wake up until late the next morning.  They awoke so late that they missed David and Kathy as we headed out for yet another adventure with Aunt Risa and Uncle Laird.  More on that in the next blog entry.

[Ed.: The timeline in this blog entry has been slightly altered for dramatic emphasis, but we knew you would be most interested in the Continuing Adventures of Eddie & George, so we felt this was literary license worth taking.]
