The Ugly Side of RV'ing

"Oooo...Can't you go somewhere ugly for once to calm my green-eyed monster!?" asked Jane Porter.

This comment was posted on Facebook in response to the scenic bike ride we took around Diamond Lake.  It made us pause and ponder.  We began to realize that we have been giving our blog readers an unrealistic view of full-time RVing.  One would think, after going back over the history of our blog, that all is beautiful sunrises, sunsets, mountain vista, babbling brooks, picturesque lakes, etc.  While the world is full of such beauty, it also contains very hideous and ugly images.

The sun doesn't always shine and the temperatures are not always pleasant.

There are ugly things that need to be addressed everyday while living in an RV or they just get uglier!

There are some aspects, that we won't even mention here because they are too gross for words.

Everyday we need to deal with the realities of life.

All the trees in the forest are not beautiful.  Some are scary and down right creepy.

Some streams are murky and sluggish.

Some lakes are dark and filled with algae.

The shoreline can be covered in debris.  Nothing like a bottle full of pee to brighten your day.

All campfires come to an end and you are left with black sooty schmutz.  We like to call this our "Dead Dog Campfire" in honor of Gathering parties of past years:

Not all RVs are bright and shiny and you can't always pick your neighbors.

And - last but not least - some RV destinations are too frightening for words.

Going forward, we will do our best to provide our blog readers with an unbiased view of full-time RVing - the good, the bad and the ugly!
