Flam and Ingo

Dear Blog.  What a difference a day makes.  Yesterday, the weather was kind of iffy, but we put the bikes on the truck and drove to the beach and found sunshine and blue skies.  Today, the weather was also iffy.  We put the bikes on the truck and drove to the beach only to find pouring rain.  As we drove past a movie theater, we made a quick right turn and settled on watching "The Hobbit".  If you can't get outside and enjoy the scenery, at least watch a movie that has some of the most spectacular scenery ever filmed.  We so want to get to New Zealand and do the Lord of the Rings treks. But, first, we have to finish with our treks here in the U.S. and Canada (as soon as the rains stops).

Did we ever tell you that Kathy's sister, Eileen, is an avid collector of all things flamingo?  (We are not sure when it started, but it is obviously part of the same gene pool that caused Kathy to collect 1,980 1980 pennies (not to mention all the Star Trek and X-Files memorabilia).  For Leenie, it is all about the flamingos.

As we travel, we feel it is important to document all the flamingos we find and to share our findings with the one person who truly appreciates them.  We find that the flamingoes usually nest in pairs, and somehow their names have become "Flam" and "Ingo."

This is for you, Leenie.  Here are Flam and Ingo soaking up the sun at the Country Oaks RV Resort in Kingsland, Georgia.
