Eddie & George Wake Up at the Top of the Alaska Highway

Wow.  The boys slept in.  Luckily, Kathy and David woke them up when we arrived in Delta Junction - the top of the Alaska Highway.  Only 1,422 miles to Mile 0 in Dawson Creek.


Kathy and David bicycled over with the boys from our campground to the Visitor Center in Delta Junction.  At least three strangers came up to us and asked us if we were bicycling the whole Alaska Highway.  We should have said, "Yes!"

The boys were excited about the Alaska Highway, but not so much about the wilderness in Alaska.  It seems the mosquitoes in these parts are big enough to eat a human, and - sure, enough - the boys were attacked by vicious, bear-eating varmints:


Baxter and Flip were simply not amused about anything on this move.  As usual, they hated their ride in the truck, and they looked expectantly at us for when we would arrive in the new campground:
