Today was our first day in Death Valley National Park. We're staying east of the park, near Death Valley Junction, and we drove in to Furnace Creek. We toured a stretch of Highway 190 between Furnace Creek and Stovepipe Wells, checking out the Salt Creek and the Harmony Borax Works interpretive trails. This is early spring and wildflowers are beginning to blossom in the southern parts of the park.
