Back On the Street Again...in Hatfield, Pennsylvania

Today is five weeks after Dave's surgery.  While the doctor told Dave that he isn't to do anything strenuous for at least six weeks, walking is good, and Dave has been slowly increasing the time and distance walking.  Today was our first "extended" walking and it was a great success.  No pain or discomfort and lots of great endorphins, aerobics and perspiration, along with plenty of hydration in this nearly 90F heat!

We started with our usual morning coffee walk, and encountered a mother bunny near the pond and wetland by our RV park.  We spotted her yesterday with a baby, but today he wasn't to be seen.  We hope that was only because he was hiding and had not been the meal of one of the local hawks.

We also ran into the goose family.  Mother, dad and two young geese are still doing fine, and the young ones are nearly adult-sized now, but still with their dun coloring.

The afternoon really made this a banner day.  We decided to take a significantly longer walk around the neighborhood.  As we mapped it, we logged 3.3 miles, which was quite satisfactory given Dave's state of recuperation:

The far end of the walk was through a large local park, part of which is rented out to farmers for crops.  Kathy had fun running her hand over the tops of the grains in one field --

-- and we saw that the corn in another field had grown as high as an elephant's . . . ankles:

While the day was humid, there was a nice breeze, and the unsettled weather provided us some sun and dramatic clouds.

Nice day, and, God willing, we will have more like it!
