Sunday in Ventura with Karen and Connie

Hi Blog!  On Sunday, November 10th, our friends, Connie and Karen Stoll, joined us for a bike ride around Ventura.  They are staying at an RV Park just outside San Barbara which is about an hour away.  We started our adventures with a picnic lunch.

After lunch we hit the bike trail.  Our first stop was the Emma Wood State Park beach where we watched kite boarders skim over the waves.

Karen likes to collect photos for her Facebook Page.  We made a number of stops to snap a few pictures of the local water fowl.  We also drove through the state park campground and discussed the merits of boondocking on the beach.  While it seems appealing for a day or two, neither of us want to go two weeks without water or electricity.

The frequent stops gave us plenty of opportunity to chat about all things.  Here are Connie and Kathy taking a break in the shade of the palm trees.

You just never know what adventure awaits you around the next corner.  Are there really goats on the beach in Ventura?

Yep, three of them to be exact.

These two were a little reluctant to go back down to the sand.  A small black dog was trying to herd them away from their owner.  Just another example of how different life is here in South California.

With the sun getting lower and the breeze getting chillier, we headed back to the RV for a nice crock pot dinner.  After solving all the problems of the world, it was time for Karen and Connie to hit the road.  We look forward to seeing them next Sunday when we travel to their campground for the day.
