Just outside our campground in Pocatello is access to a multi-use trail called "Red Hill Trail." We decided to follow it. Here's Kathy at the access point:
One part of the trail leads steeply up Red Hill, which sits east of Pocatello. From Red Hill, we could look down on our RV park:
Here's David surveying the grand view from further up Red Hill:
The views of Pocatello and surrounding hills and mountains are very pretty. This view is to the Northwest...
...while this view is to the West...
... and this one is to the South:
This is farming country, and Idaho's ag college, Idaho State University, is based in Pocatello. The campus is beautiful and reminds us of Penn State University, Oregon State University and some other agricultural universities we have known and loved. Here's a photo of one of the school's art deco style buildings, with landscaping all ready for the freshmen who will be arriving in a week or so:
Conveniently enough, a great little coffee house, "Mocha Madness," is a block away from campus, so we stopped there to refill our coffees and strolled back to our campground through the beautiful, tree-shaded Mountain View Cemetery. On the near end of the cemetery, across the street from our campground, we encountered these following sunflower-like beauties:
So now, for two days in a row, we've had a 2 or 3 mile coffee walk. Kathy says tomorrow we confine the coffee walk to the campground.
