We got the rig to its new home at Oak Grove Campground in Hatfield. Here it will settle in for the coming 14 months or so.

Breakfast in the RV
It got down to 38 degrees last night but we were snug as bugs in our rig.

Moving In
We call it "Home Suite Home" but some might call I the "Love Shack.". That's Kathy peering around our clutter as we put it away.

Scary Pumpkins
Weina and we had a wonderful day today, rambling up to Freddy Hill Farm to harvest our own pumpkins. We got a hayride, ate homemade ice cream, and then came home and carved these scary creatures. Weina's classic Jack O'Lantern is in the middle. Kathy's alien is on the right. And David's African Frankenstein is on the left.

Hey, hey, the big boy's back
Great White had to be towed to the shop a few weeks ago because it wouldn't start. It turns out that, because it hadn't been driven for quite a while before we bought it, one of the engine seals had dried out and split and was letting air into the engine. The shop fixed that and got the retarder brake going again and now Great White's as good as new and purring like a kitten. And home. And ready to pick up the 5th wheel at the end of the month.

Home Sweet Home!
Curiously similar to the photo we posted the other day, this photo shows Kathy sitting on the sofa of our new 5th wheel! We found it at a small dealer near Lancaster, PA. It seems to have everything we were looking for - and, because it had been with the dealer for nearly a year and the dealer was trying to get rid of it - the price was right, too! We take delivery on October 29, and come October 30 our new home may be parked at Oak Grove RV Park in Hatfield, PA, where, for the next 16 months or so, it'll be our little vacation home and we can slowly start equipping it for the big move in 2012.

Hunting Down an RV
This weekend we visited two RV dealers to look through some Fifth Wheel trailers that are considered the most highly rated for four-season use, including especially good insulation. Weina agreed to join us (out of an obvious sense of adventure!) and agreed to be our official photographer and visual documenter of the event. Weina took photos of each unit. This one is of Kathy trying out the most important equipment in what we decided was the best unit we saw during the day. The price was high, and we're going to do some more research, check out some more dealers and units, and then consider whether this price makes sense or we might get a lower price. Patience and thoroughness is the watchword. This is so much more complicated and time-consuming than buying the truck was!
