Kathy and I enjoy the opportunity, when the sunlight is right, to take photos of our shadows romping in whatever place we happen to be visiting. On Saturday, January 28, we had a chance to walk along the shore of the Bay in San Francisco. As we headed back from Chrissy Field, we spotted a great view of Alcatraz and then noticed that our shadows agreed with us. So, heeding their call, we photographed them!

Outsourced!
The old homestead is looking a little empty after we moved out the piano and other furniture. It won't be long until we have to move into the RV just to be able to get through the day! The cats are a little confused. Little do they know what's in store.

Hiking in the New Year
We had the BEST NEW YEAR EVER! We led a hiking getaway at Mohican Outdoor Center over the New Year's weekend and made lots of new friends.
Here's a photo of the group gathered for the hike on Saturday, December 31, around White Lake in Blairstown, NJ, near the Mohican Center:
That evening, before the festivities, we all made a moonlight hike up to the Appalachian Trail and enjoyed views out over the Paulinskill Valley from the ridge:
The party itself was a highlight. Many of us danced, as you can see from this photo:
There was even more hiking on Sunday. The weather was sunny and clear, but with a chilly wind on the ridge. Here's a photo of part of the group at the trailhead for our Sunday hike to Raccoon Ridge and Mount Mohican:
